Hi everybody, we are going to participate in VIIF 2016, 25th Vietnam International Industrial Fair. Our booth number is 216. The fair is starting on 17 October, 2016 and ending on 20 October, 2016. The Trade Show, Fair and Exhibition will be hosted at the Vietnam Exhibition Fair Center in Hanoi, Vietnam. 

To return the faithful support of customers in Vietnam, and to take the opportunity of VIIF 2016, we have decided to spare them the freight cost of their orders placed before 20 October. Happy Mid-autumn Day

With Mid-autumn Festival approaching, Shanghai Weihu Pump Co., Ltd wishes everyone a happy mid-autumn day and family reunion.Mid-autumn festival is a traditional cultural festival which is popular among many Chinese nations and countries in Chinese character cultural sphere. It is on August 15th in lunar calendar, exactly the middle of three months in the season of Autumn, so it is called Mid-autumn Day. In some places in China, people choose August 16th as the Mid-autumn day.

Mid-autumn Day dates back to the beginning years of Tang Dynasty. It prevailed in Song Dynasty. When time comes to Ming Dynasty, it has become one of the main festivals in China, as important as the New Year's Day. Influenced by Chinese culture, people of some countries in East Asia and Southeast Asia have taken Mid-autumn festival at public festival too, especially local Chinese and overseas Chinese. Mid-autumn festival has been listed as National Holiday in China since 2008. On 20th, May 2006, the China State Council listed Mid-autumn Festival into the first list of national intangible cultural heritages.

Mid-autumn festival has traditional customs like sacrifice of the moon, watching and admiring the full moon, salutation to the moon, eating moon cakes, enjoying sweet-scented osmanthus, drinking wine fermented with osmanthus flowers and so on. They have been passed down continuously from generation to generation. In this festival, the round moon symbolizes the reunion of the whole family. On this day, people will pray for harvest and happiness. Those who cannot get together with his family members today will watch the moon and miss them and his hometown. Mid-autumn has become a rich, colorful and precious cultural heritage.

What is Centrifugal Pump?

To understand what is centrifugal pump, first we have to know what is pump. Pump is a machine that transfers mechanical energy from prime mover(motor or internal combustion engine, etc.) to hydrodynamic energy to make fluids move.

What is centrifuge? In fact, centrifuge is caused by the inertia of objects. For example, when you spin an umbrella slowly, the rain drops on it will spin along. That’s because the force of friction between rain drops and umbrella works as centripetal force. But if you spin the umbrella fast, the friction force will not be enough to keep the rain drops spinning along and they will run away from the umbrella and move outward. Just like you tie a stone with a rope, hold the rope and spin the stone in a circle. If you spin it very fast, the rope will break up and the stone will fly away in the radial direction. That is so-called centrifuge.

Centrifugal pump is designed by that principle. The high speed spinning impellers move water and throw it out for delivery. The centrifugal pump converts the mechanical energy from the prime mover to energy in a moving fluid through the rotating impellers. When the centrifugal pump starts working, its impellers filled with fluids will start to rotate. Under the centrifugal force, the fluid is whirled radially outward along flow channels between impellers. The fluid gains both velocity and pressure while passing through the impeller. Then it goes through the delivery chamber, where the flow is decelerated and the pressure is further increased. Finally, the fluids is sent out along discharge piping line. As the fluid is being discharged, the center of impeller will have low pressure or become vacuum. The fluids in suction tank will continuously flow through the suction tube into the center of the impeller under atmosphere pressure. In this way, the rotating impellers keep drawing in and draining out fluids.
